Digital Art & Design Application
The Buddy the Book® digital art and design application is a tool that is part of the Buddy the Book® Writing Framework. This app provides K-5 students with a traditional art and design application that makes use of a custom canvas and unique features. The canvas is a digital form of our physical writing booklets that students use to create books in person.

As the head of product design and development, I lead and execute on all products. For the digital art and design application, I conducted user research, experimentation, interviewing, prototyping, design, and managed the development of the front and back end product.
Concept to Commercial Launch

After conceptualizing the solution based on the research data, I created all the final assets needed to have a single engineer build the app for me. I detailed every screen and all of the products functionality. I sourced resources myself like SVGs for stickers, and found open-source canvas tools to leverage. I identified what coding framework to use and found a freelance engineer for a very low cost. I communicated regularly to manage the engineer's work and to ensure all bugs were fixed. I gave the final sign-off before the product's commercial launch and continue to maintain the app.
